HISTORY
Skeleton NanoLab, a research unit of Tartu Tehnoloogiad, is focused on the R&D of Carbide Originate Carbon. The lab stated its work in 1995 when Skeleton Technologies established an organization for the R&D of materials. The many-featured R&D of materials utilized the research results and potential of Russian state research institutes in combination with the scientific competence of European and American research institutions. Within the first three years the research directions were spread out widely. Skeleton Technologies re-structured the activities to improve the efficiency of R&D. Skeleton Technologies initiated the establishment of two research and development centers. First, Stockholm Termobehandling AB, a pilot plant for the development and production of composite materials, Skeleton cemented Diamond (ScD), was founded in Stockholm, Sweden.
Second, Tartu Tehnoloogiad OÜ, Skeleton NanoLab, a laboratory for carbon research was launched in Tartu, Estonia. The lab deals with the research and development of SkeletonC nanostructured carbon materials and the development of applications for SkeletonC carbon materials. Tartu Tehnoloogiad OÜ is located at Tartu Science Park.
